City of Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #3)City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

City of Ghosts was awesome! I love this series. Chess, Terrible and, even Lex never disappoint. There were a lot of twists in this book. Each book adds something amazing to this story. The world that Stacia Kane is dark and extremely well-built. City of Ghosts had this build up that made me not be able to go to bed without seeing the explosion and resolution at the end. The supernatural elements are original and the characters are growing and I look forward to seeing everyone in the next book!

Divided Souls

Divided Souls (Darke Academy, #3)Divided Souls by Gabriella Poole

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this series so much I could not wait for this installment to come out in the U.S. I had to order it and have it shipped from the U.K. The concept has a good spin on the supernatural students studying at an academy. The characters are written with extreme, multifaceted depth for multiple reasons that involve the premise of the series. This installment makes you run the gamut of emotions as you go into the world of the Darke Aacademy.

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2)The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

I enjoyed the politics and the discussion about the different parts of NeverNever. The royals never fail to entertain. I was not in the mood for the love story portion of the book. I cannot say I enjoyed Meghan's point of view throughout the book. But, I always enjoy reading about Ash and Puck. They make the story for me. Also, there was one new character introduced that I absolutely loved and hope to see more of in future books.

Ratings Thoughts Continued

After the last book I read I decided that I would not post numerical ratings. This is the one activity I dislike the most when I make purchases on Amazon. I do not mind letting Amazon know how a vendor performs through comments but, putting a grade on it is what I do not like. I think comments have more value and depicts what I liked and why and what I disliked and why. Now, mastering the art of critiquing work and not the author.

Rating System Contemplation

I am having some trouble coming up with a rating system. I tend to have a hard time giving negative reviews or low ratings. It is only MY opinion so I guess that tends to take away some of the sting. When I think of a committee reviewing my dissertation and possibly not allowing me to have my PhD I tend to feel like hyperventilating. I mean it is only the culmination of many years of work and a multitude of thousands of dollars that have been invested. I imagine a book author feels the same way. I do not want to ever be the cause of others not trying a book because it fell short of my expectations.
