Climax (Her British Stepbrother #3)Climax by Lauren Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Climax is the final installment in the Her British Stepbrother trilogy which I received an early release copy from Barclay in exchange for an honest review. Kat has decided that her father's happiness after all he has been through is the most important thing and Tristan's mom makes him very happy. They are engaged to be married which will make Kat and Tristan step-siblings. Tristan has no desire to give up on his relationship with Kat despite the pending marriage of their parents. He just has to convince Kat that it is okay and somehow fight his own father's machinations to force him into marrying someone he has selected for Tristan.

Climax continues the story where Kat has broken things off with Tristan and they are both miserable. Their parents marry at the beginning of the book and this brings everything to the front. How can step-siblings be in a relationship? Tristan wants to continue as they are despite the backlash they might suffer if their secret gets out and Kat is not willing to do anything to jeopardize her father's happiness. She is just developing a relationship with his father's new wife and Tristan and Kat are spending time together as step-siblings in public and seeing each other in private when things take a turn very quickly. Tristan's father Edward is throwing his weight around and things become very tense for everyone involved. Climax is a great story with a traditionally "forbidden" relationship that has the reader being of two minds, thinking this relationship is still a bit odd and forbidden at the same time wanting Kat and Tristan to be together.
