Chosen: Gowns & Crowns, Book 7Chosen: Gowns & Crowns, Book 7 by Jennifer Chance
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chosen is the third story in the arc for the Saleri sisters in the Gowns & Crowns series. An eArc was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Marguerite is the youngest of the Saleri sisters that took the Carolinas by storm when they took off from their homeland where they are nobility. Marguerite is still interning at the Cypress Resort where she is trying out all of the different positions and the owners love to take advantage of her title and hostess skills. She has seen Win around the resort and been attracted to him though he is engaged to Juliet who is not the nicest person and a terrible fit for Win who has been attracted to Marguerite from the moment he lay eyes on her.

Finally Win and Marguerite speak when they both try to help Mr. Holt whose family home is in danger of being lost. According to his family and pretty much every one in town, the Holt family pile is cursed. No one, including Mr. Holt, knows why. There is a lot of speculation but know one knows all of the details surrounding when the gardens started dying and after being replanted continued to die over and over again since the 1800's. Mr. Holt tried again 10 years earlier with the same result. He has heard the story of how the Saleri's were cursed and the curse broken and hopes that Marguerite can help him break the curse. She and Win grow closer while trying to save the Holt family home which is going to cost a great deal of money to bring it back into shape since it has been empty for dozens of years. They run into serious opposition from a busybody, ruthless realtor that wants the property and is willing to play dirty to get it. It is great to see Marguerite step out on her own and show her independence from her older sisters. She finds her own way in Chosen and the reader is in for a great read with interesting characters, even the nasty ones.
